BREAKING: It’s the end of a true American classic. The Farmer’s Almanac, once a trusted guide for Delco’s earliest farmers, back when fields stretched where shopping centers now stand, is officially calling it quits.
Founded in 1818 and cherished for generations thanks to its long range weather forecasts, moon phase charts, gardening tips, and homespun wisdom, the Maine based publication just announced that its 2026 edition will be the last.
In a farewell message titled “A Fond Farewell,” editors Sandi Duncan and Peter Geiger wrote:
“After more than 200 years of sharing a unique blend of weather, wit and wisdom, we’ve made the very difficult decision to write the final chapter of this historical publication.”
RIP to a book your great granddaddy probably had in the barn next to a rusted shovel and a half-pack of Camel “no filters.”
