I was reading the one about the cattle that got out at 10pm and was thinking how much I hate to chase them at that time of night, but then my little girl came in and told me that one of ours was out. I thought that she was joking (cause brother always does it to me and her mini-horse is always out) and as I went walking towards the back door she never cracked a smile, so I pretty well knew then it wasn't a joke. Sure enough I went out and there was our friends heifer (who we are keeping til they get their barn done) and just happens to be one of the most unfriendly ones I have ever had, standing there eating grass. Best of all, my husband was in the field (2 miles) away from me. I called and told him that she was out and I was gonna need help, cause every time she looked at me she would take off. So hung-up with him and had the bright idea of feeding the others and hopefully she would walk right in the gate once opened. Of course, we have a bottle calf in there also, who thought it was time for her to eat, so she was chasing me around but finally she quit and I opened the gate and backed up and boy george she walked right in and went to get her feed. Called husband to tell him I already got her in, so he wouldn't have to stop, would just have to check the fence when he got home ( I tried to fix it the best I could). He showed up anyway, I think that he didn't believe that I could do it. But anyway, I just wanted to share this, and let everyone know that sometimes when you read post --funny things can happen!!
