I have a cow that is 4yrs. she started showing signs of weight loss soon after weining her calf. So I wormed her by mouth and pour on, gave her antibiotic shots medicated feed, quit the feed and gave her rumin inchancer. nothing seems to be making any differance. and now she is drulling. Any ideas??

If it has been dry in your area, and grass was/is short, do you have many oak trees? Sounds a little like acorn poisoning. Good luck.

I would get her to a vet as soon as possible or ship her. I have had some older cows look that die in the pasture. When I ask the vet about them he stated something was messed up internally or maybe a cancer. Hardware is another possibility.
Try to get something done quickly.

You need to call a vet. Shipping a sick cow is the wrong thing to do. No one should ship a sick cow, and what is the withdraw time on the antibiotics?? Some people will do anything for a dollar.
Doing the right thing is priceless.

Acidosis can cause a cow to drool. It can be caused from eating quite a bit of grain, the cattle standing in mud all the time and the conditions being wet all the time. Several things that upset the stomachs of the cow can create this problem. The cattle will drool heavily.

Have you had a good look inside her mouth. Those small bright torches that are available these days are invaluable for having a good look inside. Grab her tongue and feel for any thickness or firmness as in wooden tongue then pull it to one side and have a look down the opposite side for ulceration foreign bodies such as baling twine then check other side then keep it well to the side between the molars and shove your hand down the back of the gullet, you can get down a fair way and feel for anything abnormal like twine.
