Driving post video

I don't mind fencing in late fall, and winter. Bout can't do it once the ticks come out. My hats off to ya doing it in the summer.
 
I wonder if you could drive that corrugated vinyl seawall with that outfit? My Gpa use to say that y'all built it heck for stout.
 
Just to add to the questions, why drive the post so deep? Did I hear it's about 9 feet in? If so what drive it so deep? Great video! Looks like easy work for everyone except the poor guy driving t-post buy hand... The camera man has it easy! :lol: :hide: :hide:

The post are just cut flat with a chopsaw. It's great for driving t,post. We have a smaller one we like better for t,post, have a larger one as well.
Takes about 50cfm . I'd call that a minimum. We have a 185cfm diesel compressor. It's a pretty expensive setup. But I'll never use a different method, as long as I have a choice.

Why not drive em so deep. In Rocky soil we may only go 4 to 5 feet deep. But it will hold a post better. In solid rock we drill a 21/2 hole with a pneumatic drill 3 foot into the rock and drive the pipe in.
I have to warranty the braces to not pull so I take what I can get. It costs me a little more in pipe. But I'm not having to mix or buy concrete or dig holes. And they hold better

I still grab a hold off the thing sometimes. Just have to take a lot more breaks than I used to :lol2:

Ok fenceman these are some pretty darn good pics. Now the next one you post I wanna see your a$$ in their "making a hand" instead of running the camera... BTW looks like you have a good crew there. ;-)
 


I've broke plenty of rock for my spot behind that camera. I ain't giving it up easy.
Spending a little time with my rough country crew today. Great times, but you gotta watch em. When they turn on you. It can get pretty rough

Don't blame you one bit....that's a crew to be proud of. :clap:
 
I have had people tell me that when you drive the post they will rust out faster than when you cement them , do you think there any truth to that?
How thick of wall pipe do you use and what size? sch. 40 or 80
it sure looks like you have did that a few time and know what you are doing.

I thought a PHD was Poor Hungry and desperate. Anyway, I drove about 15 by hand today. Bad day to be a farmer.
