has anyone used a drill, like you would use to drill beans or wheat to inter-seed a pasture? Will that work as well as renting the conservation seeder from the extension center? advice, pro's, con's?

Yes, we've used a conventional drill to plant grass seed. I think that - depending on how fine a seed you're using - you may have to mix it with sand to get the proper distribution/acre, but I could be wrong on that.
If the ground is soft enough to allow the conventinal drill to cut into it, it should work okay.?.? If you have acces to a no till drill then that's the way I would go.
the drill is a no till, set up for 7" rows. the grass seeder is almost impossible to rent due to the fact everyone wants it right before a rain, including me. thanks!
