My holiday weekend with my kids and grandchildren. Don't scold me for no helmet, the mare was well worn out, I was on the end of the lead, dad was at her side.... and she rode out the bucks. 2022 World Champion barrel racer (although she will need a new horse :D )

Bucks? Alan, you know better than that. It turned out well this time, next time might be a different story. That is one very pretty little girl! Take care, my friend!

Just joking about the bucks. I worked her in the round pen then I got on and as you can see I'm no light load, my son rode her for a while than my daughter-in-law got on. Then we let the grandaughter on. The mare is my horse that I hate on the ground because she is so busy, her nose into everything and she kicks the walls. But under saddle she is completly a different horse, very solid and well mannered. But yes I knew she should have had a helmet on, so for the title of my post.

:P :P Well, I suckered into it - although I really didn't think the horse was actually bucking!

Not to worry Alan. I did one worse. I was just looking at a pictures of my son when he was 2 years old. I had put him on my stud horse, no rope, no saddle, just the kid. I walked back and took the picture. Nothing in the picture but the kid and the stud. That horse stood perfectly still when I told him to but, still not the smartest thing I ever did.

Alan, what an adorable little girl and she sure looks like shes having fun!

Glad to see shes on the "best" breed of horse, a paint!

I never wore a helmet unless I was in the show ring. I hated them. What fun is riding without the wind in your hair? I also used to think it was a kick to walk by a pony in the field, find one that was sleeping and jump on (I was little and had a hard time getting on). That was how some of them got trained. Poor Mom.
