I havn't flushed befor. I was curious if after flushing a donor her production of natural calves was affected at all; or maybe performace? Are they flushed multiple times per heat with an average of 6-12 embroys or an average of 6-12 per flush?

Thanks

We've flushed a few, but mostly our donors are flushed at Hudson Pines Farm.
They flush every 60 days for 1 year, then the cows are bred for a natural calf.
At 9, our Lass cow averaged 19 embryos for 5 flushes, then rebred & raised a top heifer calf.
At 11, she went back and was flushed 5 times - had one bombed flush (0 embryos) and averaged 15 on 4 flushes. Home now, getting bred next week.

We flushed a 7 yr old cow last year in February and bred her for a natural calf in April with AI. She flushed 12 #1 embryos, and stuck AI. We flushed the cow again this year, only got 4 #1's. She has came in heat already, and will be bred again next heat for a natural calf. The other cow we flushed is an 8 yr old, we kept her open and flushed her 4 times and got between 14-20 #1 embryos, she will be bred AI next time she cycles.

Did you see a drop in embroys/flush the first time or just chose five flushes?
When you flush every 60 days (about), you are looking at a maximum of 5 flushes per year if you want her to breed back & calve same time each year. She actually had 24 good embryos the 4th flush, 13 the last one.
