And how and when to permanently kill them.
When we were growing up we called them Bull-Nailers. Very painful and long lasting if you brush up against. one. I gave about 25 of them a blast of Glyphosate last summer and it killed them immediately and quickly but they were back the next year.

Any thoughts ?
Thanks

Carolina or bull nettle. Grazon will kill them without hurting the grass. The reason they came back is becuase of the tons of seed already in the ground. Takes about 3 years of spraying them before they go to seed to really get control of them.

That looks like bull nettle. 2,4-D will kill it when sprayed in the bloom. Your bad luck with glyphosate was killing it too fast and only getting a leaf burn down. Bull nettle has a big corm under the ground. You must let it die slowly.

Are those the ones that make the little green ball looking things for seeds--about 3/4 diameter?

Yes Sir. That would be these. We used to actually eat the seeds of them after they got mature. Imagine that !!!

Thanks Gents
Grazon or 2, 4-d early and keep after it yearly.. I suspect I have about 2-300 plants in a 3 acre hay field that I want to renovate for planting stock.

And Yep..... I Googled Bull Nettle and that is what it is.
Thanks again
