The little bride and I were discussing todays work ethic and first jobs for kids came up. What opportunities and alternatives were available. Does anyone remember the "Grit" newpapers.
That how I started my first "real" money venture. I was resposible for procurement, marketing, inventory, sales, and now that I think back it was as chacter building as any of my other ventures. Another was painting address's on the curb built the stencils and cans of spray paint were the inventory.
The rest of it depended on me convincing you you really did want your address on the curb and then helping with designer decisions of white numbers on black background OR black numbers on a white background. And I started this when I was 9. And been paying into SS since I was 13. What could kids do today. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable letting the nieces or nephews travel out in the world like that especially at that age.

My eight year old daughter makes and sells home made black berry jelly, has a lemonade stand, walks dogs for people and raises and sells beef to friends and neighbors. She is very industrious and tight. (don't know where that comes from) Her last venture - I think its going to be a flop - but she made about 40 of these little paper things you put your fingers in and you can move it like a mouth. $3 a piece. I think she has priced herself out of the market though. Here is a picture of her and her babies.

Jogeephus,
I've always wanted a little girl of my own ever since my first niece was born over 19 years ago. Little girls have a way of worming their way into a man's heart. Your daughter sounds like the little girl that I never had. You're a very blessed man!

She is very busy. That caring for peoples pet's is a good line to get into. Kenneling on vacations or checking on them in their home both pay well. and hats off to her for thinking of these things.

One little girl is alright, but if you have two or more of them, they will fight and scream at each other until your hair turns grey...unfortunately, my hair turned grey a looooooooooong time ago...
