Dixie National

As a first time visitor to the Dixie National, I would like to commend any on the boards affilated. The number of entries was staggering. It was truly amazing to see the different breeds represented. I saw anywhere from from 2,500 to 3,000 cattle. These are some really good representatives of each of their breeds. :cboy:

Not to be rude or to have you take offense but if the dixie national is such a good show how come Ive never heard of it? Ive heard of the NAILE, National Western Stock show, the American Royal in Kansas City etc. Ive heard of those and shown in those I have never heard of the dixie national. If there truly are that many cows there of many different breeds where is it located at and how can I get in on it. Just curious about it is all im not doubting you or putting you down or anything like that so no need to take offense.

Well not to offend, but it's the second largest event of it's kind in the nation. Second only to Ft. Worth. It is a yearly event held in Jackson, Miss.

Oh, and your too late. The cattle shows are over for the year!!

So what kind of event is it? I've never heard of it either.

They have big time Rodeo's and shows for just about any breed you can think of. It goes on for about a month. Horses had their show last month, not sure when they had the dairy cattle shows. This past week was the beef breeds show. I can't begin to tell what all breeds were present this weekend. But here are a few. Herefords(polled and horned), Angus(red and black), Murray Greys, Brahmas, Gelbvies, Chars, Longhorns, Brangus, Beefmaster,etc.
