I was surprised to see that James Brown had died...I did love his music.

However, I was saddened to see that Gerald Ford died. Gerald Ford had to have been one of the bravest men of all time...I've always admired him.

That reminds me of the one where an Aggie went to Haaavard graduate school and being from that little school in College Station was overwhelmed with the Haaavard campus.

He finally stopped and asked one of the Haaavard students where the "admin building was AT". The Haaavard student, being totally eatin' up with his own self importance replied " Boy, I don't know where you come from but at Haaavard we never end a sentence in a preposition".

The Aggie thought about it for a couple of seconds and answered " Can you tell me where the admin building is at, a--hole"!!!

James Brown died? If he had graduated from Harvard, his greatest hit woulda been "I Feel Well" not "I Feel Good" ;-)

CNN had some performance clips of Brown. Don't know if they are still up. They also had a pic of James and the wife who has been locked out of the house by the attorney. Anna Nicole came to mind immediately, in every sense.

When I was reading the paper about Gerald Ford, I think he was as important for what he didn't do as for what he did. We were in no mood for big dreams at that point in time. He helped us smile a little by being the butt of jokes. We sure needed a good laugh, what with Nixon and the evacuation of Saigon. Assasins tried twice and missed both times. The only fault I can find is playing football for Michigan. And as a time warp note; the NFL offered an all american center the sum of 2800/yr to play football. I think that is the per diem meal allowance today.

Not sure which was more "important". Ford made law and policy, Brown made music.

Never did like his music, an the news media is giving him as much coverage as Gerald Ford.

President Crowder, if i decide to use some of that Pennzoil on my solid grey hair do you reckon you could get me a discount if i ordered a case at a time.

No truer statement has ever been uttered. Entertainers are imortant, but they pale in comparison to what many of our leaders have done. President Ford was the right man for the job at a very difficult time. Young people can't imagine, and some older people have forgotton what a tumultuous time the late 60's and early 70's were for our country. President Ford helped us through it. May God bless him.

Curtis, First rule of thumb is: Dont take Motown to a Hoe-Down.

It's like that Pennzoil and Water... The 2 just dont mix.

First thing the lady that took care of me a fair amount of the time when my parents were at work when I was young said to me this morning was about James Brown. Rattled off a few records she had. She said some got broke when she moved. We talked about it most of the way to my house. She's 85. She also mentioned that the president died. She couldn't recall his name until I made mention of it .......

No life is greater than the next. Judgements are made in the eye of the beholder. His name should at least have been capitalized.

It is amazing who we sometimes choose as our heros! As time passes it's soon forgotten about all the ill deeds that were done by our supposedly heros. Yet true heros are forgotten faster than water running down the drain. President Ford a good man most likley, hero no. James Brown nothing more than a singer, definitely not a hero.

This statement shows how little you really understand about humanity. My you find it.

In death we all walk the same path.

Oh to be young again. How old are you?

Very true, in death SOME of us do walk the same path! And old enough to know there are many great men. But as stated before President Ford a good man most likely. James Brown a singer nothing more. Understanding humanity, Lets see James Brown married and divorced 4 times and living with no. 5 at his death. Drugs, well we won't go there not my place to judge. Am I picking on him I don't think so. He is no different than Elvis a singer nothing more. Should I go on?

No. Heck no. Stop right there. You think James Brown and Elvis are the same? I don't need to hear any thing else.

Come on Boys, this post was nothing short of a Satire for the IMHO, media over exposure of Mr. Brown's death.

I've always wondered who the Culprit was that led up to the invention of Rap music, etc. Mr. Brown's death has answered that question...He's gotten full credit for his career leading "Others" style to be released, with his DNA on it.
