I did not read the catalog. I threw it to the side because I wasn't serviced. What do you mean by "jumping generations".

When a two year old heifer is flushed without proving what she is made of.

I have to agree.. it doesn't seem very logical to flush a heifer before seeing what she will actually produce, no matter what the genetics! I've seen plenty of good genetics that don't produce anything more than an average calf.. so why waste the $$? Besides which, even though an embrylogist will tell you it doesn't hurt the productivity of a female, I wouldn't take the risk. I know of a couple of instances where someone flushed a heifer and could never get her bred back, or had a heck of a time getting her bred back.
