I've got 2 calves, about 6 weeks old. I applied the dehorning paste on them 4 weeks ago when I could first feel and slightly see their buds popping up. Now, one of the calves hair has almost completely grown back and covered the buds. The other, however, still very visibly has buttons. They don't seem to still be growing but I could be wrong.
Do I need to reapply the paste on him? The buttons aren't smooth and healthy looking, they are pretty rough to the touch. What do you think? I don't want to have to put him through that again if it isn't necessary, but I would rather use the paste again then have to cut or burn them off later.
