DEA

Complete waste of money. They should be flying over Colorado. My bad, that is taxed weed in Colorado so that's ok.

They guys who ran this ranch back in the 80s grew a lot of weed out here. I was told that when found, it filled a semi truck when they pulled it up. Weed isnt a problem out here anymore, its meth. There are a lot of backwoods kitchens dotted around here because its remote and heavily wooded and the law is rather far away. There is one place i have to go through to get to a gate at the back of one of our pastures. I know that i'll find a body back there one day. A lot of shenanigan goes on up in there. I go through fast and keep my eyes open and i will not stop for anyone. If i see anything up ahead of me i turn around. If i do go though there, its usually really early in the morning. One time a guy strung out on meth wandered around back there and wound up at a neighbors whose house is way back in the woods. He knocked on her door asking for someone she didnt know. When she opened the door, the guy was waving a shotgun and acting all crazy. She called 911...lol.........she tried calling me but i didnt answer my phone, i was busy. Her husband didnt answer his.. The guy climbed up on her house and tried to set it on fire. Bless her heart. It took the deputy 2 hours to get there. the squad car had a flat. She said she knew he wasnt right but didnt want to hurt him...i dont think i would have been so, um, liberal...........lol

We've had 2 manhunts out here. At first i thought thats what this copter was doing. One guy was loose out here for months before we realized it. He took my purse out of my car and dumped everything out down the road. When we called the SO, they said, 'Oh, well we've been looking for this guy for months." When we knew he was hiding in our area, we found that he had been camping out in our camper parked in our yard. It ended up in a big chase where they shot him....Another time we got a call at 3am from the SO that a guy was chased behind our house and he has a assault rifle. Luckily he was long gone by the time they called us, but we now sleep with a loaded shotgun by our bed. We are well protected now, no one will get into our yard without notice. Oh the joys of living way out.....

They flew over my place twice today. I really don't have a problem with it as long as the agenda is drug busts.
I bet it was the same crew..
About 20 years ago i thought i found some pot plants growing on the very back of our place. They wouldnt have been any someone planted, but leftovers from years before. I called the SO and they came out and of course, had no idea. We even burned a piece of it. Whatever it is, is still growing dotted around back there.
For a long time, our place was searched via air, sometimes for hours. This is the first time in over 15 years they've searched it. I was worried we had another fugitive. Earlier that day i went through a gate way back in a back pasture and i smelled cigarette smoke, freaked me out a little and i did not hang around to see where it was coming from.....
On the creepy road, thats what i call the scary stretch i have to drive, one time i smelled a strong chemical smell in one spot. Another time i found thousands of match books scattered at one of my gates. Apparently someone sat there and cut off every strike plate. I called SO then too. They said meth heads use something off the strike plate to make meth. I'm really glad i didnt go to that gate when the creep was sitting there. Of course, i would have seen them from a distance and not have gone anywhere near them...

I have no idea, husband reloads his shotgun shells. I'm sure he loads them so that they work well for whatever occasion..lol..He assures me that all i really need to do is crank one in the chamber and that sound is probably good enough to scare anyone out...But if not, the blast will do its job.

They use our local airport as an operations base during the pot watering season. Hasn't happened yet this year. But this county and surrounding county's are prime areas. I have a good friend who visited a "coffee" shop in Amsterdam when he was visiting in Holland. "Ozark Skunk" and "McCurtain County Gold" were on the menu. That was 20 years ago, when bubba was president

They overfly my place all the time with a Blackhawk with the IR pod on the front and regular video cam on starboard sponson. A back and forth pattern, from the forest on the west over the the river and back, till they've looked at all of it. Pretty much clockwork once every 90 days or so. If they see something suspicious or interesting on the videos, they send a different colored and smaller bird out the next day. Sometimes it's DEA--sometimes it's Customs.
