Dang World Is Getting Soft

Very sad. I worked 28 years in a state correctional facility and at times didn't feel very safe. You don't have numbers on your side.

More BS from the liberal public. But you have to respect our justice system in this country. They need to give the victims family a say in the sentence - punishment of the perpetrator.

This makes me mad as a former guard for the State of Texas it be nice me off that an inmate can kill a staff member and not get executed. That is BS everyone on that jury who voted for life over death deserves a beating and thrown in jail with the inmates.

Should be automatic that killing a guard in prison is grounds for execution. Especially with the viciousness of this one. Tired of all the ones that get off with some stupid reason, and then we pay to keep them for ever.

It use to be automatic probably still is here in Texas. The way some of these inmates like prison life don't bother them and killing staff will make them a celebrity. This sentence sure does put staffs lives in more danger in my opinion.

Where you work at? I know that feeling I have been on units with over 3000 inmates.

It's ok guys, the inmate apologized in court and expressed remorse. He knows what he did is wrong, so they might as well let him out.

Well that seems reasonable, he's rehabilitated now and it would be cheaper to let him go.
I don't see any other options.
If they continue to hold him, he might turn mean and the state has shown that in prison he's a danger they can't
control. He wouldn't do any worse if released.

I agree with you SOB. I think they should send him to Hawaii. Giving him a boat ride half way and let him swim the second half sounds reasonable.
