This weather has really put a hurting on our young calves. Treating two sick ones today. A lot of scours and wheezing. 32 degrees here Wednesday, 72 degrees yesterday, 49 degrees today with rain, and two inches of snow being called for tomorrow, with it supposed to be 75 by mid week. Tough for all of us up this way. Many dead calves at the neighbors farm. Vet said he has not seen it this bad in a while. Has treated 30 calves since Tuesday for the same thing. Pneumonia and bacterial infections/diseases. I know many parts of the country are dealing with this kind of weather and hope it all goes well for everyone else.

We got over an inch of rain last night. Raining at this moment. High winds and dropping temperature. It is going to hurt a lot of young calves. Even tough on cows.

Sure is. On of our neighbors has had three 3 year old cows die before their calves. He is building little buildings for them to get out of the elements as he says if they lay down in the wrong spot at the wrong time they will never get up.
