Some of you may remember I showed a couple of photos of my grand daughter sailing her 29er boat, well they are off to Adelaide over Xmas for the National titles, a road trip of about 1500 miles one way. I had converted my wife's box trailer to take the 29er which is about 14' 4" long with my grandsons sabot boat above it and it worked well but now they want a dedicated enclosed trailer for the boat and what's more they want it by mid December. I said at first no way as I am flat out here by myself inseminating cows, cutting hay and getting ground ready for planting summer forage cereals.

I made the mistake by ordering the steel and making a start on it. My wife Pam who lives in Brisbane about 31/2 hours away has been coming up on the weekends and I have been giving her the weekends to work on it. It looks like we should have it ready for the trip now. Probably won't have all the inside fitout complete as they want it but it should be good to go. I have to be very conscious of weight, they want everything that opens and shuts but I have to keep the weight fully loaded below 1200kg which is the limit of my daughters diesel Toyota RAV4 towing capacity. The boats themselves are very light. The cladding is an aluminium foam sandwhich that signwriters use as that is what all their friends trailers are made of but to me it seems a bit heavy though we are handling large 4m x2m sheets (13'x 6'8"). The pattern on the outside peels off, just protective layer.

I had Pam clean it all out before I started setting it out Ron, getting a bit of a mess now though. I think she will have to put it right again when we move the trailer out.

I think your just gonna have to look at the pictures M-5. If you come to visit one day and you'd be very welcome, I'd try and give you a quick Australian speak course, like if we call someone Bluey it usually means he has red hair.

I did and she does wear them but must have taken them off for the video. At 64 she has only just stopped being camera shy. My girls are enjoying seeing their dear old Mum at work in the videos.

M-5, to make it worse my hearing is not too good either but we'd work it out somehow.

Boondocks, what does he sail? My daughter sailed with me in a bit of club racing in a 26' keel boat. I guess she must have enjoyed more than I realised so got my grandkids involved in it.
