am thinking on making a purchase to reseed some areas in my pasture, three point or pull behind? I have a Ford 4600 i'll be using. any suggestions and advice would be appreciated. i also have a Gator 6x4 if any ideas as if i could utilize it for this task? My steps are plow, disc, roll, cultipack, seed, cultipack. Is this the recommended process for reseeding bahia? Thanks

You can get more weight in a pull behind version, and weight is what you need. If you check AuctionZip for local farm auctions, good chance you'll see some coming up for sale. Around here, the old heavy, tandem cultipackers seldom go for more than $300.I have a 9' tandem and have no trouble pulling it with my Ranger 500, so I'm sure you'll be able to use your Gator. I don't know anything about bahia, but that is the method I use for small seed like clover and brassicas, minus the "roll" step. For larger seed like fescue and orchard grass, I seed, drag and/or cultipack depending on time.
