:cry2: Took one of my favorite cows and her calf to the sale barn. She was only 8 yrs old with a 4 mo old bull calf. For some reason, the cow had been bloating ( I was treating her constantly) and she had lost weight. I think she was circling the drain. The calf also was a failure to thrive . The cow brought .15 and the calf $1.50 I got a check for $549 . ( better than digging a hole) I was just feeling blue because she was a bottle calf I had raised and was like a big dog. But ::::its a business and these are food animals . Thanks for listening ! :cboy:

No pic, she weighed 1260 . Was a really big boned tall cow, very bony and bloated. She looked 20 years old. My other cows are all fat and sassy!

Thats hard to imagine, the .15 for her.. light cows here getting at least .55. Sorry you had to get rid of her, but thats the way you gotta look at it.. a business decision. Everytime I have to drag one off that died on my place, I always think.. why didnt I take her in to the sale???
