PALM BAY, Fla. -- Palm Bay Police have arrested a suspect in the arsons in Palm Bay.

Florida Today is reporting that the name of the suspect is Brian Crowder, 32

The mayor of Palm Bay says a reverse 911 system and tips from residents helped them find and arrest a man suspected in at least one of the arsons in the city, which is located on Florida's east coast just south of Melbourne.

News 13's Ben Baird reported that the suspect was found by a police dog in some bushes on Brickell Street after the suspect fled from his car. More than 9,000 acres have burned in the Palm Bay area so far and more than 13,000 acres have burned across Central Florida.

Authorities tell News 13 that the suspect lives on Breakwater Street, nearby where he was found. The suspect was taken to Palm Bay Community Hospital to be treated for cuts and scrapes.

News 13 has learned that police believe he may be involved in a fire that was set Tuesday night. They would not confirm that he is suspected in other blazes.

More than 162 homes have been damaged or destroyed as crews work around the clock to contain the burning brush fires.

A $15,000 reward has been offered for the capture of the arsonist responsible. Investigators said they have had at least 100 different leads.

Yeah, I have him covered. I been taking donations for his bail from all the folks who had their houses burned down. I suspect he will be out real soon. ;-)

I heard the DOT is looking for him because of all the bridge damages incurred from his overweight cargo.
 
Let me set the story straight once and fer all.Paint being my twin brother from separate litters has stolen my I.D. He was on his way to the B&B down there at FlaToy's place and stopped to grill him some supper. Being him mistaken by some of my Wimmens, he was stampeded by the smell of the possum on a stick he was cookin' and the match right charcoal spilt onto some pine needles and started the blaze.There are some hefty fines levied against him too for bridge and asphalt repairs.

Now, that just aint right. I aint even been in Fla. in over a year now. I can prove where I wuz the whole time. I been over here in Gulfport for near 4 months now. Just ask the police!!! :)
 
I figured there was some mix up, they also said this feller they arrested had a long drug history, I think they have framed Crowder.All though the pitcure they showed of that feller did have a Tenn, look to him.

I think this arsonist feller has really just tried to smear my good name. :shock:

It was prolly FlaToy tryin' to collect on his and MikeC's inurance policy by burning that "resort" they have due to low numbers of guests during this depression we're in.
 
Donations for Crowders bail is coming along nicely. I have located a donation bucket and will soon get it out of the shed. :D
 
my sister and mama moved to fla and live in palm bay i have been worried about them. i hope things are in recovery for everyone down there and i put ya'll who live there on our prayer list at church. is it ok to say that in a public forum (church ,prayer) i don't want to offend, i rarely say things like that. :?

Thanks TUP. I wouldn't worry too much about "church/prayer" words here. My home is in Malabar (east of Palm Bay)and I think for now at least the worst is over. It got to with 1/4 mile of me but I was hauling stuff out for folks who were two or three houses away from it.
 
It pains me to say it Flaboy but you're an alright guy in my book - that was real neighborly of you to help those folks move their stuff. It's a real shame that their aren't more people willing to help their neighbors.
