We have decided to creep feed our fall calves, still on the cow, thru the winter. We live in western Kansas, and the forcast is "colder and more snow" than normal. My question is what "types" of feed will be the best. We have used a "Stress Care" feed for weaning calves in the past. It is a mixture of pellets, oats, corn and molasses... what I would call a "sweet feed". We can get it with or without decox, or can use a top dress if needed.
Or we can get a pelleted creep feed from the local coop. Just dont know which will be more paletable for these young calves, as well as easy on my pocket. Thanks for your help.
