Chiefs, Cherokees, Chateaus. This thread has been created to allow people to give a crash course on the major bloodlines of the Red Angus breed. A source for people wanting to learn more about a breed that they may not know much about.

edit: Maybe the easiest way to go about this is for someone to take a line and start talking about its origins, their attributes (what they are often used for), etc. Then hopefully the thread will move on to another line and discuss it.

This is purely meant to help ople become aware or familiar with some of the more predominant lines found in the RA breed.

Perhaps because most don't understand the use of the term "line." What is the definition of the term "line" in this context? From what perspective is the term "line" used?

I thought family lines was a an easy concept to understand. You for example try to stick to a particular line that revolves around a single bull...correct?

If anything I know there are certain cow families within the red angus breed. Where do these lines originate? What is there claim to fame? What are they known for? etc.
