This is the "crack rock" of candy at our house. My cousin gave us the recipe, she said "trust me and try it" Glad I did, now it's the favorite and very easy to make.

1/2 pound butter (2 sticks)
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
crackers - either saltines or graham crackers
12 oz bag chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350. Line a baking sheet with foil and put down a single layer of crackers. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar. Bring to boil for one minute. Stir in baking soda and pour over crackers, bake for 10 minutes. Remove and sprinkle chocolate chips over all, give it a minute to melt and spread out the chocolate. Chill to harden the chocolate, then break into pieces like peanut brittle.

my mom makes cracker cookies.an she cooks them on topm of the stove.spoons them out on wax paper an lets them harden.

Just to look at the recipe, you wouldn't be likely to try it. But it's good! I have to make a batch for my daughter in law every year and wrap it up with her other Xmas presents. She thinks I walk on water when I make cracker candy for her.

Bigbull, you oughta post that recipe, sounds easy and I'll take your word for it that it's good.

I make this candy too, just watch your oven, it can burn easily, then not so good.

I made this also with saltines, and its so yummy. If you like the salty and sweet tastes together this is for you. Caramel anything is my favorite, and this has got it-easy and fast to make too.
