I had 3 cows that were to deliver around 1st of October this year. To relieve some pressure on my pastures , in July this year I moved them and 3 more 6 month old calves across the road into a pasture I use to keep goats in. The grass was very good and it seemed like a good idea and it worked fine for me. The 3 cows were on schedule and all 3 delivered first week in October. Calves I had moved sold very well at 8-9 months old. Now that leaves the 3 cows with their calves and all are doing fine. My question is that when the calves hit the 4-5 week old, don’t you think that it is a good time to move these back to the herd? I think the bull agrees with me any way. Ideas please.
