I've had 3 cows slip a calf already this fall out of about a 100 head. Any ideas as to what it could be? They are on corn stalks and this is the first time they have ever been on corn stalks. They were also trucked quite a ways but that was almost two months ago and they all slipped this week.

You best be getting one or all of those calves into your vet. He can have tests done to see what the problem is. Depending on how many cows 3 is a lot, especially in 1 week. How far along are the cows? Could be many, many different things.

Had one to slip last season. Vet never could come up with a reason. She's got one more chance before she gets wheels.

We had one slip last winter too. She got another chance, and she just calved here about a month ago. But, one is different, if I had 3 in one week I would be getting pretty worried!!
