The feed store won't be open till Monday, cows have 20 acres of hay to munch on but are mooing like crazy. I usually give them cubes and alfalfa cubes every other day. Will I do damage to them by not feeding them till tomorow? Should I go buy deer corn at the convenience store?

No, they are fine, just babies. ;-) They will act awful. If they have adequate hay to eat until Monday, it is not a problem. They are just used to getting it. It will help you remember next time (:
Do not over feed to compensate on Monday.

Thank you so much for your response. I did panic and buy deer corn, which the girls did not want to eat. Tractor Supply was open on Sunday and I was able to buy some alfalfa. It seems the girls are always mooing about being hungry lately. I am in the Texas hill country and it has been a little colder than usual and I increased the feed slightly, to no avail the girls still moo. Especially when the inside house lights are turned on in a new room.

The cows are probably just spoiled and have you well trained. BUT I do know of some really well-meaning people that think they are taking care of their cows and are feeding them enough when in fact they are not. So, don't be offended when I ask this you don't have many posts on here, are you new to cattle? Are you sure that they are getting enough to eat? What is their BCS (body condition score)? Here's some pictures to compare to - http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/beef/400-795/photos1-9.html
As I said, I am not trying to offend or imply you are not looking after your cows. Just trying to help out if you are new to all of this.:)

Since most of the time I feed cattle candy with my 4 wheeler all I gotta do is crank it up and they're standing at the fence begging. No mater if they've just been fed that morning.

Yes, technically I am new to cattle. Thank you for link to the BCS score, it seems my girls range from 5 to 7. My neighbor which is very nice (old school) told me the girls wanted a bull and that was why they were mooing like crazy. I don't know if this is true, but the girls do seem spoiled from what y'all are saying. As soon as they hear me drive up from the dirt road they come running to the fence line. I was mostly concerned because one heifer had a calf. I try to give her extra, away from the others. Tonight they are fairly quiet despite the houselights being turned on. I very much appreciate your comments and am not offended at all. :) I would normally ask my Dad but I cannot anymore. :(
Thank you again to all.

All you need to do now is throw a jackass into the mix and you can really crank up the noise volume. You won't even have to crank up the 4-wheeler. She'll start honking when she sees you drive up.

Glad you didn't take any offense.:) Sounds like spoiled cows, just keep watching condition. I've had a few over the years that moo like crazy when they come into heat but I've never seen the whole herd mooing. Although had one heifer who was the leader and she would moo for 24 hours and pace around the fence with the whole herd of heifers following her. I was never more happy to see a heifer bred than when she was.

This is such a funny post, no offense intended. Your cows are more spoiled than mine, and that's pretty bad. Ours are grazing on brome and wheat grass, probably about 8 inches of snow on the ground but the grass is higher. So they don't get fed at all unless the temp falls below zero, and they are still fat. And.........they still think they are starving to death every time a truck or tractor starts. I am afraid that if I brought deer corn or anything else back from the convenience store, they would probably expect a soda to go with it. Your cows are spoiled rotten (as are mine), but its better than the alternative! You obviously care a lot for your animals. Good Luck!
