Cow not standing

Hi,

We have a cow that was dancing from foot to foot and very hyper , lost weight but eating and drinking ok.
She has now gone down and won't stand but is still eating and drinking ok.
Vet has beeen and has given B1 jab and painkiller, though still alert and eating and drinking she doean't appear to want to get up.
Any ideas of what we may be dealing with.

Your vet didn't give you any ideas?

The possibilities are endless. What was the diet? Breed of cow? Age? Calving history?

My first thought with dancing around is painful feet, which might be laminitis. Which is from getting too much grain and rumen acidosis resulting in blood changes that inflame the feet. Don't know if that could fit your story.
