Cow Heads

Hello all my name is Marc and I am new to these boards. My family recently got into the meat business and there are certain products I am trying to find for them. I've been searching the internet for a business that sells Cow Heads to no avail.

I was wondering if anybody on these boards would have any tips for me on how to locate such businesses. Thank you.

Or, if you're looking for "head meat" to use or sell...good luck! With the BSE "scares", any brain/spinal cord stuff is definitely taboo...

IF I understand him right he wants a mounted head (older bigger bull...maybe like a Longhorn??) to put in his meat shop. Jimmy Moore's Supermarket in Leeds, AL had a massive ox mount in their place forever. A taxidermy board might be a better place to look for such......at least that is what I hope he is asking for.

Then you’re looking in all the wrong places.
Try your local sale barn. But of course you will have to buy the whole cow to get the head.
WELL, he did say his family was in the meat business!!

If you're looking to mount a cow head on the wall, look for a taxidermist.

I understood him to want the cow's heads for meat but maybe I understood wrong. I don't think he actually pointed out why he wanted the heads but I didn't see anything about horns???

Look on ebay or craigslist, it's amazing what you can find!

if you are looking for some skulls that have been cleaned and would look good for display, you can contact Darol Dickenson at http://www.texaslonghorn.com they used have a bunch on their website, but that section is currently down, apparently. but i'm sure if that is what you were looking for and contacted him he could help you out.
