We had a mishap last breeding season. One of my heifers was bread and successfully calved unassisted by herself. She did everything like she should have, and produced a nice little fat heifer calve. [ Kathy has not named her yet.] Any way she calved on Dec. 16,2009. Today she had passed bloody mucus, it was all over her tail. Not a lot but enough to notice. Could she possibly be in heat or what. She is eating and seems very happy. Any ideas whats going on.

yes she could very well be in heat.
Could be but I have seen some cows take quite some time to completly clean out.
I would watch her. If it continues then you may have something to be concerned with. If she clears up and spots again in 21 days you will know.

More than likely she is still cleaning , nothing abnormal about that .

Thats been my experience too. They'll (for lack of a better term!!) "leak" blood, mucus for several days possibly even longer.

Unless it's bright fresh blood she's probably still cleaning

Cow is fine. She stoped bleeding and is nursing her calve. I did move them into a nursery pen today. Kathy got to inspect them and now every one is happy. I also gave them a little sweet feed to coax them into the pen.
