For my own satisfaction, how often do you give MultiMin90. I 've never given it more than once a year. Also how often do you use the injectable wormers like ivermectin, decomax or Cydectin. I'm fixing to work next week as I have a few that looks like they need it. I plan on giving all the multimin90 and the decomax wormer and fly control Cylence pour on.

I've never given MultiMin and I've never used an injectable wormer. I currently use Cydectin pour-on and have used Cylence in the past but didn't get good results. My go-to for fly, tick and lice control is Martin's Fly Ban.

I have been told by several folks that if you do a decent year-round mineral program you do not need multi min or breeder minerals prior to and during breeding season. I have had good results from doing that. I just use an off brand pour on wormer if needed but do not worm anything over 3 YO and only worm weaned calves via FEC results. I think there was one that needed worming in the past 3 years. I do pour first calf heifers as they seem to respond but I ought to do some FECs to check. I'm lazy and I know it.

No dewormers or fly control. i just keep my cattle moving onto fresh grass and let their slick oily hides and the dung beetles do the rest. Have you tried the "Georgia Juice" Fussell Farms produces? https://fussellfarmsinc.com/georgia-juice-2/
Yes, they work very well. And you don't have to buy their all-natural, essential oils, " Georgia Juice" formula to use with it, You can use regular insecticide/fly spray. Kinda pricey if you buy one that comes with the frame, and on wheels, but you can get just the sprayer, solar panel, etc, and build your own frame for them to walk through.

We used to give Multimin90 to everything in the spring but didn't see much benefit for the price. We do keep it on hand and give any poor cows a shot. We do a generic injectable and generic pour on wormer in the spring. The pour on is mainly for flies. In the fall we give Valbazen for liver flukes. I don't have much faith in the Valbazen but it's what is recognized in our area.

I've used MultiMin90 on poor looking ones as well as weaker baby calves.
It's a good product but I'm not ready to start giving it to everything due to cost.
We worm our calves at weaning and worm cows atleast once a year, but usually both in spring and fall.
I use the generic ivermectin pour on most times for the cows.
If we are selling calves in a special sale that requires a name brand wormer then I'll use Cydectin for them.
@Lucky when I had sheep, I wormed them with Valbazen in the late summer before breeding if I remember there was something about it that wasn't safe for bred ewes.

I gave 3 heifers about 11-12 months old about 3 weeks ago and one wound up with an egg size lump on her neck. I gave Vira Shield 6+ , Vision 7 /with Someia (misspelled) and the ivermectin wormer. I suspect the Vira Shield for the lump. I've seen smaller lumps before but this is bigger. Do you think overtime it will clear out?

Nicotinic acid + d-alpha tocopherol helps clear out the poison

I would suspect from the Vira Shield because of a reaction from the carrier suspention in some of those. But look on the label and it should give a warning.

You can mix your own equivalent of Martin's by using generic permethrin and Piperonyl butoxide (PBO 8) in mineral oil or diesel fuel.
Someone posted the recipe for this on here several years ago. I keep a container of each and just mix it as needed for my hand sprayer.

Edit: It was actually @TCRanch that posted the recipe for this she got from another user that is no longer on the Board.

During Covid I had a hard time getting the PBO 8, sometimes even the permethrin, and ended up just buying the Fly Ban. And still do! Lazy? Maybe.😉
