Ok here goes - I have B complex will this help my lil bull?
Peanut Butter?? - maybe feed mixed with?? is he old enough?
I did searches and pulled up old stuff :) thanks to all
*edit* Also can you give him Red Cell to help rebuild from the scours?

I read your other post so I think I'll outline some basics.
1. You need a thermometer, that will help diagnosing how sick your baby is. You don't need to take his temp every day, but if he acts sick that would be the first thing for you to do especially since you don't have experience(yet!).
2. As any young mammal, if your calf has diarrhea he needs lots of fluids. Dehydration has a compounding effect, if he's dehydrated he doesn't feel like drinking, if he doesn't drink he gets more dehydrated. Dehydration kills!
3. Watch for fevers, if he has a fever he doesn't feel like drinking or eating and he gets more dehydrated. Look at #2 again for dehydration.

Some basics I've found handy for keeping young calves healthy, or for treating calves.
Fresh water is essential.
Fresh feed is essential.
Fresh air, some sunlight is essential.
Some people give shots of the B complex, we don't but we also know the background of our calves. It sure won't hurt the calf if you give it one.
Pepto Bismol has the same ingredient as the 'pink stuff' sold for calves. It works OK if the calf has diahrea but otherwise acts OK.
Here is another product to mix with the milk if your calf has diahrea: http://www.pbsanimalhealth.com/cgi-...ur.html?L+scstore+sxxj8307ff744674+1157849036 It helps stop them up and cuts the fluid loss. Other electrolytes require you to stop the milk for a day while administering them. Those types usually include glucose to provide energy. They are also good.
If your calf has a fever it will most likely need some type of antibiotic. Alice addressed those in your other post.

I would advise staying away from most home remedies if you have access to your vet and items designed with calves in mind.

Forgot one more important thing: salt.

We weaned some babies off some old cows we wanted to cull right away. So we ended up with some bottle babies. They were doing fine but we had to take them to my sisters for a couple weeks as we were going to be gone. They got diahrea pretty quick, change of water, getting some grass along with their feed upset their gut. I told her to go get a small block of salt and put with them. Next day they were fine. Salt will help the gut when feed changes upset them.
