I like them all, but the middle one the best. Are those headlocks that I see in the background? If they are you'll like them. We use ours to help with halterbreaking.

Slick?? Well, this doesn't represent what my cattle look like this time of year. :P We cleaned them up & clipped "the edges" for a good profile pic. These will be in a sale & we had to have pics for the catalog. This is NOT a good time of year for us to be taking pictures

Yes, we LOVE our new barn, and those are headlocks. The cattle are in a 20 x 16 pen. It has a 10' section with 5 headlocks in it, and a 10' section with feed-thru bars, so their water & hay can be kept outside the pen. 3 sides of the big pen is portable panels, so we can take them out & have the barn opened up if we need to. We also have two calving pens, each one with a headlock & gates set up that we can squeeze them into the headlock area if needed. Or just feed them & let them catch themselves. I love it!!! This is the first time we've ever had NEW!

Those are some real nice hefiers. You responded earlier to a post i had about my semmi/holstein heifer i bought as a school project. Only 3 mo. now but i like the looks of your breeding. :D Do you ship semen? How much $ roughly? Thanks.

What are 'headlocks'? Are they like dairy stanchions?

I was thinking of getting a set of self locking stanchions to supplement my headgate. Thought it might be more convenient when handling several at once. Bait them in. Check them, dose them, tattoo them, turn them loose without having to run them through a chute one by one.

Yes, headlocks are exactly that - self locking stantions. I can have them set open, so cattle can come & go or I can lock them so when the cattle stick their head thru - they are caught. I have a single one in each of two calving pens & have a set of 5 in this large pen.
They have worked PERFECT!! I have a few cows that are not NICE while in a pen with a newborn (fine outside next day). I am here alone dealing with the cattle most of the time, so this way, I put down some grain, catch them, go in & take care of shots for the calf & clean pens without dealing with MOM. LOVE IT!!!
