Doctors are doing amazing things these days. One of my nieces sons, about 6 years old, has had several open heart surgeries to repair a valve problem - starting about 6 weeks like Elle....
He is coming along fine. Elle most likely will too. No use being scared, at least on the outside. Elle's Mom and Dad probably need you to spread some strength around to them. This is where your faith - no matter what the outcome - gets tested. All the best. Jim
