About four years ago I was trying to thin the does when a small group of deer came out of the swamp and I harvested one of the larger does. All the deer scattered except for a young yearling buck who approached me and stomped his hooves and carried on like a youngster trying to pick a fight. We stared each other down for some time but he refused to leave. I got to thinking this little boy could grow into something nice but he needs some education to do so. With that thought I raised my rifle and pierced his ear and he took off after the others.
I took a fella hunting Saturday and he took this 220lb 8 point that appears to be about 5 1/2 years old. If you look closely at his right ear you will see his ear has been pierced by a bullet. What do you think the odds are of this being the same deer? Either way its too funny.
