I expect someone did this already. I did it for myself, and I thought I would share it with you. I was pretty shocked.

A candy bar cost a nickel in 1950, doubled in 1970 to a dime, went to 30 cents in 1980, fifty cents in 1990, eighty-five cents in 2000, a dollar and a dime in 2010, and is expected to cost a buck thirty in 2015.

Maybe my data is bad, but,,, That's up twenty-six-hundred percent...

How many candy bars can you raise on 150 acres?

They will keep raising the price till people quit buying just like the rest of our commodities. But when your really tired and can't drive anymore, get you a big Snickers bar and a Mountain Dew. That will make you bright eyed and bushy tailed.

How many candy bars would an ounce of gold buy in 1950 versus today? Look at who is running all the gold buying places. Most are owned by people in countries who wish to change the world currency to something else and get shed of the dollar. How do you get rid of a dollar? Buying gold is a good way.

This summer I got a good education on how worthless the dollar has become. About 16 years ago I went to a place and the dollar was par with the countries currency. This summer I bought a mountain dew with a $100 bill. They first gave me $70 of their currency back and then took a ten and gave me back nine dollars. That friggin drink cost me $31! But after that I could buy Mt. Dew's all day long shipped in from the USA for a buck apiece as long as I was using their currency. And IMPORTED!

I look at what I pay in and what I get back in return and I can't help but think if this was a horse I was feeding it would have a bullet between its eyes. And I haven't even gotten my free phone yet!

hmmmmm Joe...........you been had.

Why is that? You got your phone already!

  No I don't think I'll ever have one either. Just don't have the balls to lie my way thru the process. Course they keep making it so easy you may not even have to lie anymore. Just show up with a big shiny gold tooth or two, diamond earrings, a big gold necklace, a dozen tatoos on each arm and two or three "baby mama's" on your arm. Might even get an up grade from what the po' folks is gettin'.

I think we've both been had on the phone deal but on the money I just checked the exchange rate and its come down some but its well over 20% from the 1:1 it was several years ago. I guess printing money can actually hurt the dollar.

That same $34.72 invested at 6% interest for the same period of time would be worth $1500 +/- a little.
