Warren Buffet says that most years, you can be successful in the stock market by simply taking a contrarian approach. That is, investing in what majority of others are not, and not investing in what majority of others are.

What are some contrarian actions you take?

Couple of mortgage REITs I like right now. Buying a MLP as well.

Anybody think rolling the dice on Alaska Airline pretty soon makes sense?

Yep, and he sure knows more than I do. I have 14,000 shares. Some bought in 1975. One share a week from 1975 till 2008. All profits put into stock also.

I've never had the cash to play the markets, but from what i've seen, IPO's were what interested me.. One in particular was when Mastercard went public.. 2003 or something?.. I didn't have a pot to pizz in at the time, but I'd have tripled my money in a few days.. went from $7 to $20 very quickly.. now it's $290

Markets are gyrating and to me that makes it too much of a crap shoot.
Fed lowered interest rate because of the virus.
As one guy said, that makes as much sense as if your transmission falls out so you air up your tires.

$4.7 million worth and you are fooling with stocker calves? I hope you are diversified besides cattle.

It closed today at 33.47 so only 470,000. I'm still poor.

You’ve been grousing about that Kroger situation since the day I met you. Why don’t you go ahead and sell it now that it’s at a high?

Oops. Now you know why I'm a farmer and not a businessman. Nice investment either way.

My mother worked for Kroger and had stock bought out of her check every week. I just kept it after she died.
TT, I should have sold yesterday. But very soon.

Buy oil. It is taking a beating but it's always short term.
We bought a 3000 gallon tank this winter and will fill it in a month.. we paid $1200 for it, it's a double wall enviro-tank.. it doesn't take much of a price hike to pay for the tank!
