what model kubotu or ford is the same horsepower as massey fergusenn 255. wich brand is recomended by the most farmers
 
Asuming the Massey Ferguson has 50-55 hp,you are looking at a Ford 4000 (68-75) 4600 (75-79) or 4610 (80- whenever they started making the 4630 @ 55 hp (52 on earlier models.Today you are in the TT75 class @ 62 or TN 70.They have newer models 4020being today's .Kubota has a good rep where I am but not many are bigger than 35hp.The best thing is to get one where you have a good dealer and parts supply.In th e 4000 -4610 Ford used the 201 c.i. 3 cyl. 4.4" X 4.4".Great motor rakes hay on 1 gph.
 
I believe the current Kubota model would be the M6040 which has 55hp at the PTO . We had a M5700 year 2000 model but sold it when we got out new M7040 last year.
 
Kubota has a number of models that could compare, all are M series though. The L and B series are much smaller. Go to www.kubota.com and you can get all of the specs.
