I hate this 80 yesterday and 30 tonight, I have come down with a good old fashion cold.

i got a bad cold a month or so ago that put me in the drs office.had a real bad caugh.so he gave me some pills an sent me home.but i never did have a fever with it thankgoodness.

Alka Seltzer Cold Plus works wonders for me. First sign of a cold, start on em and after a couple days all is well.
It even comes in an orange flavor now, so it aint half bad.

Nothing beats a cold beer for a sore throat. I think alchohol kills bacteria and viruses. 8)

Now you sent my memory back a couple of decades to school. I think it can take up to 2 weeks before symptoms start from when you "caught" the cold. Feel free to correct me anyone.

Yeah, the extreme temp swings get to me, too. Had a doozy of a cold around Christmas and took almost two weeks to shake it. First one I'd had in quite awhile, though. Colds are a pain in the butt. Hope you get better soon.

Yeah, is that the coughing, sneezing, aching, fever, stuffy head, wake up on the kitchen floor medicine? That's what happens to me if I am not actually laying in bed when I drink the stuff. It;s great but it has this freaky half life about it. I have the big balloon head for the next day.

My 13 year old missed two days of school with a cold last week. He's never sick so I took him in to see his doctor and he said it was just a cold, so go home.

There is an evil tasting lozenge or something that actaully help with colds. You still get them but they don;t last as long or seem as bad. The main ingredient is zinc.

Now that's funny Cal.

Was out playing with the nurse cow about 5:45. Frost on the windshield but no wind. Didn't check the thermometer. Quite a difference from the 93 degrees on Monday. Didn't seem as cold as yesterday because the wind had finally laid.

Hubby and I both came down with Influenza A in early Feb. Doctor gave us a ZPack, tylenol, advil, but worked the best for my sinus congestion was Afrin, just squirt it up your nose and instantly clears sinuses. Dr. said only to use it for a max of 5 days.
I hadn't been that sick for probably 15 years.

This is what my granny gave us......A good hot cup of tea, lemon juice ,honey and a shot whisky will make ya feel alot better. Around here where ever someone is starting to feel sluggish. We drink a cup. It's better than store bought junk.

Friend was telling me his sons mother-in-law went to Dr -was told she had flu,sent her home--She died that night from pnemonia---42 years old-- :frowns: Ya'll be careful Don't shake hands with any polititons,you don't lnow where that hand has been! :lol2:
