You might try putting hay in the bottom of the trough & sprinkle the pellets on top so they have to eat some pellets to get to the hay or mix the pellets with a feed they are familiar with. Start with a low % pellets & increase % pellets every couple of days. After a few days they should eat the pellets alone.
