Allright help me out here problem's with trailer axle. Tamdem axle where the leaf spring bolts ( floating axle) to the rocker has a four inch piece of metal on both sides of the leaf to rocker that broke. I hadn't got far down the road turned around came home and made a couple and hit the road to the barn.
I can make and replace all of these in an hour. My question is this some kind of hardened steel?
Secondly I don't have a clue what this spacer is called to look it up on the internet. Never in all of my year's have I even jacked with this part.

No, not special in any way, CB. Did you retain the spacer that came out of the turned eyes on the leak springs? Got to have that, otherwise the spring will bind when you tighten down the nuts on the bolt. Make sure you use a "Nylok" nut (self locking).

Mine didn't have a spacer it just has the rocker triangle to the leaf spring shackles bolted to each.

CB sorry it took so long for me to get on here to reply. As everyone said there nothing special. You can go to any trailer mngf and some parts houses and get them. Or you can just get some flat bar, any size you want, And cut some holes just big enough for the bolts. They usually just break from wear and tear.

Thank's I found them for .75 a piece.
Dang trailer is a 80 something model they just don't make Hanover's like they used to.

After 30 years I think you got your moneys worth.

Like was said they are cheap. I replace everything but the springs every couple of years just as routine maintenance. But my trailers are on the road almost daily.

You are absolutely right it should be on the routine maintenance list and is now.
Never entered my little brain on the shackles. My trailer where the leaf spring bolt's to the frame and the rocker have wet bolt's that get greased a couple times a year.

That a good idea. Maybe I could drill and put in zerts on mine. I'll have to check that out.
