Christmas how much $

Backhoe, does Mrs. Backhoe have any friends out of state?

The first year we were married, Van gave me an airline ticket voucher from a travel agent with instructions to book a flight for me to visit one of my out of state friends...I just had to chose which one. Also, does Mrs. Backhoe like to travel alone? This mini Bahama cruises are fun and there's always lots to do on them, even if you're traveling alone.

This is the first Christmas for us as grandparents. We got a grandson in early July and a graddaughter in late October. This is going to be interesting.

Tuesday we went to Fort Worth and shopped a bit. $650 worth. I anticipate about another $2K but I also buy for nieces and nephews etc.

The boss lady (grandma) needs to get a good Christmas gift this year. I am stumped. She's already said no more new jewelry years back. Anyone got any suggestions?

How about a nice vacation of her choice.

Last year my brother-in-law got his wife a nail gun and a electric sander. :) :) Hey, she liked it!

BHB, I'd seriously consider the mini cruise (for the two of you?) or the day spa thing...of course, she'll probably say "oh, I couldn't, I just have too much to do, I just can't leave for that long" in which case you insist and make her go! Could set you back a bit, but the more I think about it, the cruise thing sounds like the winner, the kind where you stop at a few islands and shop and tour around. Yeah, I think you oughta do a cruise. Just think of all that blue/green warm water, tropical breezes, fancy rum drinks with those little umbrellas in them, someone to wait on you. And, hey, she can always get the "beauty treatments" and massages and stuff on the ship...There, I'm glad we've decided (LOL!).

The 16 yr old wants some laptop gaming computer that costs $3400. Not happening.
The 7 yr old wants a .243 hunting rifle. another  NOT!
the 3 yr old wants a "Princess Dress." Not sure how to explain THAT to HIS dad! BUT, it's the only semi-affordable request...
