Me and the wife went for impromptu ride yesterday afternoon. Some ryegrass drilled into a native grass field looks pretty good.
A purchased hiefer with her first calf.
Wife noticed the little red cow down in the cedars as we were headed back. I immediately decided she needed help and we walked her to the closest pen. Little fellow decided to back into the world. A little push back in and his back legs got untwisted , a little tug with a piece of hay twine and he came out like cork out of a bottle. Lots of luck in that little pair.

Good job Fenceman, It's the little victories.

My neighbor has a cow that's been down over a week. He's been picking her up and letting her stand for 45 minutes or until she gets tired every day after work. Today she finally walked and grazed for about 50 yards before another cow knocked her down. I wouldn't have given $50 for her last week but did split a set of hip huggers with him to get her up. Should've bought a set years ago. Only thing I see wrong with her is her right front quivers like she hurt it.
