In the sauce a little early aren't you Inyati?

Cannot tell you who it is but I sure hope they share the story with everyone.

I assure you, I am on a strict personal commitment to not start drinking before 4pm.

PS: Speaking of drinking. During my annual physical, I talked candidly with my personal doctor about my drinking habits. I started by asking if I was an alcoholic. She ask me to describe my drinking habits. I did. I told her there is not a single day that I do not drink. I told her that if alcohol did not have the drawbacks of slowing reflexes and causing health issues, I would drink even more than I do.

She ask why: I said I love the feel of alcohol. I like the sensation and the quality of drinking. She ask me if I ever want to stop and cannot. I said no. I hold myself to strict standards. I rarely drink during the day and at night I try to never go over three glasses of wine. I try to keep it to two.

She took all this in and said, "No, Ron, you are not a clinical alcoholic. Your problem is you have a love affair with alcohol." Then she followed that up with some personal questions about my "love life". I told her I love my cows most, then my dog Blue. I said there are a few people I love more than myself but maybe only three that I can think of. After I got finished with that, she ask about my spiritual life. I said, "The only Fairytale I believe in is the Lord of the Rings."

She just looked at me and said, "Ron, you are a mess." :D :D :D

Inyati, your post and the dr 's remarks reminded me of a memoir I read a few years ago--Drinking: A Love Story. An interesting book.

Try going w/o for a week as a test. You seem open to learning things about yourself. It might prove instructive (and would , at any rate, give your liver a few day's reprieve. Even 2-3 drinks a day over many years is a lot for your body to process)...

Stick with 2-3 glasses of quality wine and you'll be fine Ron.

You are a mess though. Lol!

boondocks, I have done that. I don't notice any difference. But Blue said he does. He said I kick him a lot.

I don't mind getting a light buzz on, but I haven't gotten smashed in darned close to 10 years now, and can't say I miss the hangovers that come with it. I don't drink much, and am a lightweight. I don't have a strict regimen of when I will allow myself to have a drink,if it's 10 AM and I loaded a truck with hay and it's sweltering hot, I'll have a cider or beer. Wintertime I don't drink much at all, and Friday nights I might have a beer or two. I'm always in a position where I have to drive home and it's been like that for 10 years, so it's just become habit to not want more than 2.
