checking livestock

I have been browsing thru some threads old and new, it appears that some times livestock will go unchecked for several days. Is this normal?

Not ideal, but sometimes happen. I see mine everyday. I doubt I would miss just one, unless I counted them. I give them a good ride through on Saturday or Sunday. I do check my horses twice a day head to toe no matter how busy I am.
