I tried the largest of the farm ponds that has crappie in it . Not a bite ! So we have one other smaller pond that has crappie . First cast I caught one , then 2, then 3 . So I called my wife to come join me . I would have fished longer but after we caught 15 she needed to go . She had the food for the kids at church Wednesday night . I dressed 14 and turned 1 smaller crappie and 2 bass back .We've got a lot of good eatin' fish around here but crappie is my favorite.
They are also among the most fun to catch, which is great when grandkids are in tow.

Sounds just like my bride of 46 years !Good times, good memories. That is the good life.

Just this evening when I got home from my day job, the weather was so nice. Early springtime, 70ish degrees, mild breeze and sunny. I called my youngest daughter (the mother of our youngest grandchild) and asked her if we could come over to take them for a ride. Of course she said yes.
I asked my darlin if she was ready to go. Instead of saying yes or no, she asked me if the seat was clean. WHY?
Sometimes the best things in life are just spontaneous thoughts. We should follow through with them without complicating anything more than necessary.
Life is too short to clean the seat when grandkids are counting on you![]()
Maybe they areAlways something she cant sit on, a dog or fence part or a crate of tools or even my chainsaw today. She keeps a few towels and wet wipes in my truck for the occasional short ride....lol
Her truck is always clean.
No photos but I took our younger 2 out sledding this afternoon after getting home from kindergarten. It sure is a blessing to be in a flexible career this time of year where I can shut the shop down any hour of the day and spend time with them. Hearing them gut roll when they crash or jump the sled into the driveway is one of the greatest sounds I get to enjoy. Dogs heeling them or the sled half the time. Bub couldn't find his snow boots so he was rocking the cowboy boots, all he cared about was something high enough to keep snow out. Just standing on the hillside gravity would take over and out from under him those racing slicks would go. Toughed it out for quite awhile before the cold finally got him to admit defeat and head in. When we sat down for dinner he asked me if I had fun sledding with them and I could honestly answer I was having the time of my life for that little bit.Good times, good memories. That is the good life.

In this case it was just dog hair, in the side-by-side. I threw a towel over it and told her to load.Always something she cant sit on, a dog or fence part or a crate of tools or even my chainsaw today. She keeps a few towels and wet wipes in my truck for the occasional short ride....lol
