Merry Christmas to you all!!!!!
We downloaded the free demo of this recordkeeping program, and it has alot of advantages over our spreadsheets. Do any of you use it?? We've plugged alot of our records into it, and it's pretty neat. I like how all our information is linked, and can print out detailed reports. What others (not real expensive) might you recommend us looking at before buying?
Snow expected for a slightly white Christmas! Another healthy calf on the ground today Yea! Yea! Hope you all have the same & more blessings this Christmas!

We use it. There are some things I wish it did but does not. We tried about everything we could a demo of, for the money and the ease of use we choose Cattleworks. When we bought it it was even cheaper, $35 I think.

What do you feel are the drawbacks? I see that the Palm version is "read only" ,wish we could bring it to the working chute & record, for instance. But,it sure looks like it would help keep things tight. Thanks

Some of the others we demo had something telling you when a cow was due, guess you would say it had a built in gestation calculator. My wife wishes you could put a picture of the cow with their records, some programs you can.

One report I wish it had, would be one to show the income on the individual cow for lifetime.

Overall for the money I am happy compared to price of most of the others. We have one through UK college and to me it is hard to use. We have ran into a few issues and Cattleworks got them fixed.

Search the forums and you will see a lot of info on software. My second choice would have probably been Ranch Manager.

We use CattleWorks, for the money it isn't bad but like tom said, it lacks a few things that would make it more user-friendly. Wish you could group reports by sires also.

We use Cattleworks too and find it pretty easy to use and thought it was the best for the money. Have had it about a year but there were a few things that I annoyed me so I emailed them. They were very responsive and changed a few things in the program. I would suggest you correspond with them and see if they can address your concerns.

I use RanchManager. I really like it, and if I think it needs something I can talk to them about it and they will address what ever concerns I have, and they have regular updates. So far everything I thought would be nice to have added has been (like a surrogate dam for twins or orphans). You can add a picture of each animal as well.
