I saw Kingfisher's question on the squeeze chute and it brought to mind something that just happened to me about a week ago. I was putting a single cow through my facility. She entered the sweep tub with no problem. I was swinging the gate behind her. Just before she entered the alley, she stopped and got her head between the bars of the sweep tub. I could not make her back out. So I sit down and watched. She just stood there like her head was in a headgate. Finally she wanted out, turned her head the right way and away she went. If I had others behind her and was in a hurry, it would have been aggravating.

Anyone had this happen? What do you do to solve it quickly?

May have to add some boards or mig weld some extra bars and also a little buss on their ass with a hot stick makes them old cows think bout something else besides being stubborn as an old mule.
