Cattle Cycle Number Crunchers ?

The number crunchers say you should buy cows after the bottom of the cattle price cycle, and then cull hard after the peak of the cattle price cycle. Hard to argue with buy low sell high. :nod:

This avoids what you do during the declining part of the cattle price cycle. Could leave some pastures MT, or sell hay, or renovate, or go on safari, or ???

Does this cycle strategy stuff make sense to you, or do you think the numbers crunchers just wasting time?

My question always is how do they know what the tops and bottoms of the cycle are? Prices were pretty good in 2014, could perfectly well have sold out then, but then look at 2015!

Most folks have given up on timing the stock market, but cattlemen are more optimistic...
