Canopy lift

Anyone make a lift or hoist to remove their canopy from their truck?

I'd like to be able to winch it up closer to the ceiling and maximize shop space.

We did something similar with a truck bed. Hooked to the rafters in a pole barn.Winched it up with come alongs. Not sure how you would hook to a canopy but it should be possible.

I was thinking 2x4 or 2" pvc pipe with a good rope going through it to a pulley system on the rafters.

Maybe one of those cheap harbor freight winches would work.

That is exactly how I pull my camper top off my truck. I have one of the 880 lb harbor freight hoists mounted up in my rafters. My top has a ladder rack on it. I tie two pieces of mule tape (rope would work also) in an X shape from one corner of the ladder rack to the other. I then hook to the middle of the X with the winch line. I can have the too off or back on in about 10 min by myself.

Just google lift for jeep hard top...plenty of ideas and kits sold. Just adapt to the truck canopy
