got here yesterday, steer judging today. Down on numbers but high in quality - lots of limos but a lovely six month old murray grey vealer was reserve in the light weights. Prices at auction reasonable around two fifty a kilo.

we have two heifers and a bull here ... Murray greys are down in quantity and quality this year bit disappointing. Our bull weighed at 675kg should have been 710 but he is still the heaviest junior bull in the shed and there are plenty older than him

some new breeds this year - speckle park, mini hereford, maine anjou. Shorthorns and square meater entries way up. Red poll down. Some stunning dairy cattle opposite me

Aren't the mini herfs funny to look at? My old neighbor has them.

junior champ bull, first and second with the heifers, first in the breeders group class ... Not bad. Supreme was the senior cow calf

got back home around 10pm last night, soooooooo exhausted, glad to be home sleeping in a real bed

Right there with you Keren- I'm sooo exhausted!!

To be honest was a bit disappointed with the quality of cattle across the board this year. The tops were very good - the Pollie bull was very hard done by in the interbreed - but it seemed to be lacking in that middle-of-the-road type of cattle.

yes I was disappointed in the quality too ... not to mention the ... err ... health issues on grounds ...

Looking forward to seeing the photos Keren! I keep forgetting to look on the Show Board site for some nice Aussie cattle.
What do you think of the Speckled Park? They have just started to be promoted over here, only been in the country 3 or 4 years I think.

waihou, the speckles were stalled directly opposite me. some lovely cattle, very very meaty, moderate framed. gorgeous colour. but the temperament really needs some work I think
